Youth Gatherings meet once a month in different areas of the community. Youth Gatherings have Minute-to-Win-it type games and team building type activities. These get togethers are more about building peer connection, having a safe place to have fun after school with other students, and discuss the theme learning topic of that week. Topics include but are not limited to: Resilience, Leadership, Community Connection Building, Healthy Habits, Health Coping Strategies, …
The Youth Council is an opportunity for students to meet monthly during the school year to talk about preventing substance use, plan activities, organize campaigns, build each other up. Each month there is a guest speaker, group activity, and leadership/character development sessions. Students do not have to apply to participate and students are not required to attend every meeting. Feel free to show up when it works for you!
There are students who serve as our Youth Interns (application and selection process) who come, but students do not need to be an Intern or had to have previously engaged with ASAP to come. If coming to a Youth Council meeting is a students first time participating in ASAP, that is just fine!
ASAP brings together youth in the community to learn, develop, lead, connect, laugh, make memories, and lift each other up in living their best lives, free of substance use and abuse.
Any student that lives or goes to school in Winona County is welcome to come to any of the meetings.
Food is provided. Please sign up online so we can plan enough food.
