Each year we promote a campaign to raise awareness of the misperceptions around alcohol use and remind everyone of the health and legal risks that go along with underage drinking. During the campaign we support responsible beverage serer training at bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and special events. We also support organizing sober activities for students, and giving parents resources to talk with their family.
An individual can face up to $3,000 in fines and one year in jail for providing alcohol to a person under the legal drinking age of 21.
BUZZKILL is a county-wide campaign to reveal misperceptions around alcohol use and remind everyone of the health and legal risks that go along with underage drinking.
Numerous activities go on around Winona County to promote sober events, safe serving practices from point of sale, and to empower parents and youth who want to have safe celebrations.
Parent Pledge: Parents can sign the pledge to agree and encourage others to host safe, substance free celebrations. Looking for Party Planning Tips?
Party Stoppers: During the BUZZKILL campaign adults can be more vigilant of underage drinking parties. Individuals can earn $50 if a tip leads to an arrest through the FAST50 Program.
After-Prom Events: Food, bags, prizes, hypnotist show! Events are held by both Winona and Lewiston schools. All students are welcome to attend. They can sign-up at school.
Sticker Shock Campaign: Shortly before prom and graduation students post stickers and fact cards in local liquor stores.
