Forty-four 5th grade students at the Lewiston-Altura Intermediate School graduated from the 12-week D.A.R.E. program yesterday, and we will continue to support them in the years ahead. Two students who won the essay contest read their work aloud to the audience, and received the magnificent “Daren Lion” stuffed animal from the instructor, Deputy Kate Rusher. Excitement grew when Winona County’s K-9 unit arrived on stage for demonstrations. We finished by shaking hands of each student, and congratulating them with a certificate.
Nice job students, roar like a lion!
